Small Southern Appalachian pouch and horn. 7” wide by 5” deep, not lined. Small inside hanging ball pocket. ¾” strap with hand forged buckle adjustment. Small powder horn with American Chestnut base plug.

Early Style Pouch and Horn
Based on an early original piece. Made from pigskin, 7.5” wide by 7” deep, not lined. Hanging inside pocket. 1” wide strap with buckle adjustment. Medium size powder horn with simulated “repair” on base plug. SOLD

West VA Pouch with Engraved Horn
Based on an original and made from coarse brain tan. 7.5” wide by 8” deep. Body lined with an old upholstery fabric, and flap backed with deerskin. Fully welted seams. Bound inside lip. Long triangular flap with short fringed edges. Inside pocket sewn to back of body. 1” shoulder strap with buckle adjustment. Fish mouth style horn with Moon and Stars engraving. Maple base plug.

Small Southwest VA Pouch and Horn
Copied from an original and made from pigskin. Small, outside-stitched pouch with inside pocket. 7” wide by 5” deep. Welted seams. Antler button on flap. 1” pigskin shoulder strap with buckle adjustment. Small horn with pine base plug.

Southwest VA Long Flap Pouch with VA Applied Tip, Banded Horn
Made from cowhide. Long, “pieced” flap. 6.5” wide by 7” deep. Inside pocket. Welted seams. Pouch front lined with hemp. 1” shoulder strap with button strap adjustment on back. Large, single band VA horn with applied tip in Redbud. Fir base in traditional VA style.

Long Flap VA Pouch with VA Screw Tip Horn
This Virginia pouch is made from brain tan and is fully lined with hemp. Bound inner lip. An inside pocket sewn is to the back. 6.5” wide by 7” deep. 1” strap with buckle adjust. Southwest VA screw tip horn with pine base plug.

Large Decorated Pouch with Bison Horn
Large pigskin pouch with decorated flap. 8” wide by 9” deep. Fully lined with hemp, flap backed with deerskin. Large inside pocket. Gusset and fringed welts. Fringed, oak leaf flap overlay. Bound inside lip. 1.5” hand-woven strap of linen and wool. Bison horn with cherry base plug and small silver decorations. Brass tacks and screw out finial to make filling easier.

Southern Appalachian Open Top Pouch and Horn
Small open top pouch, made from heavy hemp with leather top trim. About 6” wide by 7.5” deep. Tied on ¾” shoulder strap. Small traditional horn with pine base plug. Open top pouches are unique and somewhat peculiar to the Southern Appalachian region.

Hair On Flap Southern Appalachian Pouch and Horn
Southern Appalachian pouch with a long, rabbit skin flap. Made from goat hide and lined with blue-stripe ticking. Dyed black. Flap is backed with goat. Bound inner lip. Hanging inside pocket. 6.5” wide by 6.5” deep. 1” strap with buckle adjust. Traditional horn with simulated throat repair in wrapped copper wire.

North Carolina Mountain Style Pouch and Banded Horn
Traditional, Appalachian. “mountain-style” pouch. Made from cowhide with welted seams and lined with an old upholstery fabric. A hanging inside pocket provides quick access to balls, patches, or other small items. 6.5” wide X 6.5” deep. 1” shoulder strap with buckle adjustment. NC style, two banded horn with fancy beehive base plug in fir. Traditional applied tip in light-stained Redbud.

Based on an early original piece. Made from 3 – 4oz. cowhide, about 8” wide by 7” deep, not lined. Hanging inside pocket. 1” wide strap with buckle adjustment. Hand-forged strap buckle. Copy of an original Eastern Kentucky powder horn with paneled tip and flat, pine base plug.
