Large traditional design from southern Virginia or Piedmont, NC. 17” long by 2.5” at the base. Long beehive base plug made from fir. Single band. Pinned, applied tip made from horn. SOLD

11” long by 2.25” at the base. Traditional tapered spout. Rounded antique chestnut base with hand-forged nail for strap attachment. Copper wire repair (simulated) to throat. SOLD

Larger horn measuring 14” long by 2.5” at the base. Apple base plug with staple strap attachment(s). Contracting color Virginia pattern screw tip, turned from horn. SOLD.

North Carolina Banded Horn
Traditional Southern banded horn with pinned, applied horn tip. 14” long by 2.25” at the base. Base plug made from apple with integral strap finial. Turned horn tip in a NC pattern. SOLD

9” long by 2” wide at base. Small engrailed spout. Domed pine base plug with hand-forged nail for strap attachment. “Repaired” throat. Perfect for a squirrel rifle. SOLD

1700’s Engrailed Throat Horn
Medium-size horn measuring 14” around the curve by 2.25” at the base. Flat pine base plug, painted dark green. Staple strap attachment. Tapered spout. Recessed throat with engrailing. SOLD

Copied from an original from the Highland County area. 14” long by 2, 3/8” at base. Base plug made from antique chestnut. Staple strap attachment. Traditional Virginia tip shape, turned from horn. SOLD.

Traditional Virginia horn with single band, and antler applied tip. Turned apple base. Staple strap attachments. 16.5″ around the curve. SOLD

Old traditional design with 8 panels carved into the spout and throat. Base plug of pine secured with 8 brass tacks. About 12” around the curve. SOLD

Traditional Southern Appalachian-style Horn
Simple spout treatment with antique chestnut base plug. Forged, rose head nail for strap attachment. This is one of the most common working class horns. SOLD

The “Copperhead Snake” Horn
Simply designed with the spout shaped and engraved like the head of a snake. Apple wood base with antique wood screw and leather washer for rear strap attachment. Simple, folk-art decoration is very common in the Southern Appalachian region. SOLD
